From 1952 to 2023
Kings Heath Demolition Ltd was started in 1952 by Jim Ferran, his brothers and their father. The business was a leading demolition specialist in Birmingham for many years until Jims retirement.
Jim speaks in detail of the works they completed across the West Midlands and explains how it was mostly done by hand. The business had three separate reclamation yards where every possible item was taken back and recycled into the construction industry.
Kings Heath Demolition Ltd came to life again in 2016
After working for one of the largest UK demolition contractors for over 20 years, Paul Ferran decided to resurrect his fathers business name.
In February 2016 at Jim's 80th Birthday party, his granchildren Kavan and Cerys Ferran surprised him with the news that their father (Paul) would soon be restarting Kings Heath Demolition with his business partner John Smith.
Jim was delighted and excited to see the company pick up where it left off. KHD is now owned and run by Paul Ferran (Jim’s son) and John Smith with the support of a dedicated experienced team.
Jim recently visited the Murley base in Stourport to take delivery of three new additions to our growing fleet of Doosan machines. Jim has a great knowledge of the industry, he keeps up with our current projects and is fascinated with the new technology we have invested in.
