Kings Heath Demolition Ltd was founded in 1952 by Jim Ferran, his brothers, and their father. For many years, the business was a leading demolition specialist in Birmingham.
Jim speaks in detail about the project he carried out across the West Midlands and explains how it was primarily done by hand, and the company operated three separate reclamation yards, ensuring that as many materials as possible were salvaged and recycled into the construction industry.
After Jim’s retirement, the company took a step back, but in 2016, Kings Heath Demolition Ltd was brought back to life.
After spending over 20 years working for one of the UK’s largest demolition contractors, Paul Ferran decided to resurrect his father’s business name.
At Jim’s 80th birthday party in February 2016, his grandchildren, Kavan and Cerys Ferran, surprised him with the exciting news that their father, Paul, would be restarting Kings Heath Demolition alongside his business partner, John Smith.
Jim was delighted to see the company return and continue the legacy he had built. Today, Kings Heath Demolition Ltd is owned and run by Paul Ferran and John Smith, supported by a highly skilled and experienced team.
